Forestdale Heights Lodge
April 2024 Meeting

Since its inception in 1967, Forestdale Heights Lodge has been faithful to B’nai Brith Canada’s commitment to People Helping People. At our monthly Zoom meeting on Tuesday, April 9, this became a crucial part of the agenda as members approved allocations to help 10 charities in Israel and Canada. (see below)

As well as Lodge co-presidents Ruth Pupko and Debbi Silver, those in attendance included Zoom moderator Stewart Indig, Albert Ohana, Ray & Rosalie Moscoe, Carl Zeliger, Elizabeth Bloom and Jeff & Lisa Rosen. Ruth reported that they have tried to inquire about the health of Marilyn Arkin, who had been hospitalized for several weeks this winter, but have been unable to reach her. Stewart discussed the upcoming Toronto Marathon, set for May 5, and said anyone interested in participating should contact him. He also confirmed that the Lodge would again hold a BBQ at his house this summer on July 14.

I reported on the state of Kol Echad, letting members know we had our most successful Passover greetings campaign. To date, only two political greetings have yet to be paid.

Debbi continued the discussion of Kol Echad, saying she had decided to step down from handling the business end of the publication. After much debate and a vote, it was decided to end all advertising in Kol Echad, commencing September 2024. The bulletin will continue online, though, with myself/Jeff as the editor.

The next meeting will be held on June 4.
